Brush fire breaks out in Topanga Canyon

Los Angeles County firefighters were battling a brush fire that erupted in Topanga Canyon on Saturday, Nov. 16, authorities said.
Firefighters were dispatched to the hilly area near the 1200 block of North Topanga Canyon Boulevard just past 3:30 p.m., the LA County Fire Department said.
By 4 p.m., the fire had grown to an estimated one-and-a-half to two acres, firefighters said. No structures were threatened.
One helicopter was assisting by providing water drops on the flames, according to the Department.

Topanga Canyon Boulevard was closed from Mulholland Drive to Pacific Coast Highway as firefighters continue to battle the flames, LA County Fire Dispatch Supervisor Bernard Peters said.
The Los Angeles Fire Department said it was assisting the county crews.
