Pedestrian struck and killed on 101 Freeway in Woodland Hills

WOODLAND HILLS — A pedestrian was struck and killed Wednesday night by a vehicle on the westbound 101 Freeway in Woodland Hills.
The crash occurred near the Woodlake Avenue exit about 9:05 p.m. and the first paramedics to arrive determined the victim was beyond medical care, according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Details of what led up to the deadly crash were unclear.
The Nos. 1, 2, and 3 lanes of the freeway were closed into the night for an investigation into the accident, the California Highway Patrol said. The No. 4 lane remained open.
All lanes eventually opened, according to a 2 a.m. report from City News Service.
