by City News Service

One person suffered a burn injury in an attic fire that broke out at a one-story duplex in Sun Valley on Monday, July 29.

The fire was reported about 2:05 p.m. in the 7800 block of Irvine Avenue, according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The patient was in fair to serious condition when taken to a hospital, she said. The injured person’s identity was not made public.

Thirty-eight firefighters took 27 minutes to knock down the blaze, keeping it from spreading from the attic to the living area below, Stewart said.
