LAPD motorcycle officer collides with bicyclist in Encino

ENCINO – A Los Angeles Police Department motorcycle officer and a bicyclist were injured in a collision Monday, July 22 in the Sepulveda Dam Recreation Area, authorities said.

Paramedics sent to the 16400 block of West Burbank Boulevard about noon took both men to a trauma center, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The bicyclist was in critical condition, the LAFD reported.

LAPD officials said the motorcycle officer’s injury was not life-threatening.

The circumstances of the crash were under investigation.
